Lollipop Tina by Urban artist Mittenimwald

At Finearte Gallery, we are proud to show a superb piece sent by German artist Mittenimwald.

Mittenimwald is a unique artist with the choice of inconography mixing religious symbols with punk style and nudity. An Explosive combination!

He told us the story about his artist’s name: in German there is an adage, “den wald vor lauter baeumen nicht sehen”, which means: “not to see the wood for the trees”. “There was a point in my life, I lost my job and I didn’t know what I should do. So I stood in the middle of the forest and I couldn’t find my way”. Middle of the forest, in German translation means: “mitten im wald” like mittenimwald.

His inspiration comes from a long time spent (working?) in advertising agencies. There, he learnt to influence people. “My inspirations are aggressive advertising, provocation and punk”.

Mittenimwald's pieces are immediately recognisable...and although he does not work "in the street", many of his pieces have been pasted up by French "Street Art without borders" group.

Lollipop Tina is available for sale and can be viewed in Finearte Gallery's showroom or purchase online.

Contemporary Japanese Art

Japanese printmaking started in the 17th century. It has become one of the most appreciated art forms the world has ever seen. Over a period of several centuries Japanese prints have seen many different styles, revitalizations, changes and new developments. There have been commercial ups and downs and twists, but each period had great achievements of its own and great artists who produced fascinating works. And there is no ending in sight.

Contemporary Japanese prints are a very lively and vibrant section in modern Japanese culture. There is a great number of excellent artists working in Japanese style. Some are great stars - well-known to an International audience like Tsuruya Kokei or Clifton Karhu. Their prints are in the collections of museums in New York, San Francisco or Boston. Others are emerging and many are still unknown.

Nishi belongs to the group of emerging and internationally acclaimed young artists.

Nishi's work is based on Japanese Calligraphy, Ukiyoe Art and Japanese Family Crests. She is also into the seasons, each season in Japan has a vivid difference in color and is reflected in her Art.

During the creation process, the work talks to Nishi. The artist closely communicates with her work while she is working. Materials for the artwork are also very important. When you see Nishi's work, you can see dynamic brush strokes and the characteristic detail in the piece. The artist intention is to create a new wave/style in art merging Painting and Japanese calligraphy.

Nishi uses various tools and materials, such as Spray paint and Washi-paper, however, most of Nishi's work is created using a Japanese brush and Sumi-paint.

Nishi is currently exhibited at FineArte Gallery and works can be viewed online at
